Whatever Happened to?

  • YahooGroups

Yahoo is deleting all content ever posted to Yahoo Groups – You have until December 14 to download files before they’re permanently removed.

That’s kinda sad, I spent (far too long) on Yahoo PBEM sites, forging friendships over the miles and creating some legendary adventures along the way… PBEM – Simply stands for ‘Play By Email’ a way to Play D&D over email or a collective Group platform…

There is still a link to a Game I started in 2002: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Drow_Lolths_Lost_Children/info

But I can’t access the page to harvest all the pretty pictures, because I’ve forgotten my log in from 17 years ago!

  • MSN Messenger

MSN Messenger was deactivated in 2014

  • AOL

AOL – is still going, although I don’t think I ever had an account. I just remember AOL and Lycos being a ‘thing’ thing… back at the turn of the century…

  • You’ve Got Mail

I don’t know how true this is, but I found it entertaining … You’ve Got Mail

  • MySpace

Is still a thing! Plus … I found my old page … MySpace/Tatterhood (again) I can’t access it because I no longer have the email address I used to set it up and don’t know how to access my own page now, oops, but it’s a real trip down memory lane to discover all those old photos …

  • Lycos / Chat Rooms

https://uk.lycoschat.com/ – Still a thing, though I never used it myself …

  • Mr Clippy

  1. So many fond memories and much nostalgia. I had a website with Angelfire for a time, after Fortune City and Geocities either stopped or became too limited with their free space. Myspace was fun before it turned all music-orientated and serious; I found my way to your old page… and found my old one too *cringe* πŸ˜€ https://myspace.com/bmh81
