Quality Time

The art of doing nothing…

I sat and lost time. Doing nothing more than sitting. Sitting with Casper in my lap, absently loosing time.

My little ginger friend offered me head bumps and padded at my tummy his deep rumbling purr was comforting and soothing. His weight became heavier, his eyes half closed in a peaceful mode… only his ears flickered occasionally as the dawn chorus filled the air beyond the window.

Sure, I needed to get up, my coffee mug was empty and there is always something that needs doing. There is always something that needs doing and that can just wait.

I’m unsure how often I just stop and let time flow without a care? How sometimes simply doing nothing feels like an accomplishment for you’re left feeling content and relaxed.

Cats have got this down to an art. This ability to fully relax and not give a fuck.

I still have a lot to learn about the importance of stillness, but one captured moment in time may make me understand the quality of nothing.

  1. Lovely photo.
Yes, cats are great at teaching us to be still and as a cat owner once myself, which I miss, when a cat is on your lap, they are happy to stay there and not be moved.

    1. I have three now (unintentionally turning into a crazy cat lady) one always likes morning cuddles. It’s definitely a lovely way to start the day xx

      1. Cats are certainly a lovely way to start the day and the end of the day too. They help you keep relaxed, as you will know.
